The 64th annual Keytesville High School Alumni Banquet was held April 10th in the Keytesville High School gym. Alumni President Teresa (Neidholdt) Byrd welcomed alumni and guests and introduced the other officers, Vice President Regina (McCollum) Emerich, Secretary Annjeanette (Walser) Hubbard and Treasurer Courtney Wahlbrink.
The Star Spangled Banner and Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag was led by Savannah Byrd. Jim Edwards gave the invocation following a moment of silence in honor of deceased alumni. The dinner was catered by Christine Atterbury and staff.
Following dinner the graduating class of 2004 were introduced. Recognition was given to the following graduates: oldest male graduate-Luther Stark, class of 1928; oldest female graduate-Mary Virginia Edwards, class of 1933; travel the longest distance-Mary Pat Rucker, class of 1953; most family members present-Elvin Enyeart, class of 1949.
Teachers attending the banquet were Kim Huckabey, Keytesville, and Christopher Kendrick, Glasgow. Past teachers introduced were John Hunter and Mercedes Gladbach. The Superintendent Mr. Paul Vossler gave a short presentation.
Debbie Sellers announced that the H. A. Sadler fund started by the class of 1953 last year had grown to $770. Donations are still being accepted for this fund.
The honorary class of 1954 and 1979 were recognized. Speaking for the 50 year class was Ardyth Delaney and Dale Imgarten was the speaker for the 25 year class. Speaking for the 40 year class (1964) was Larry Hughes. The 35 year class (1969) report was given by Donna Woodward. Larinda Ellis gave the report for the 30 year class (1974).
New officers for the 2005 banquet are, President Courtney Wahlbrink, Vice President Annjeanette Hubbard, Secretary Charles Coy, and Treasurer Shirley Huckabey.
The banquet was closed with the singing of the Alma Mater.
Prior to the banquet a hospitality table was hosted by Wanda Dinsmore and Mr. and Mrs. Charles Coy. Following the banquet a Sock Hop was held at the school multi-purpose room and another dance was held at the Salisbury Knights of Columbus Hall with music by Rhythm Express. Breakfast was served at the Salisbury Diner.
