The two hours for the informal reunion of the KHS Class of 1964 simply sped
by on Saturday, April 10, 2004.
Classmates Jimmie Newsom and his wife Beverly, Larry Hughes and his wife
Linda, and Ronnie Kahler were the men from the class who attended. Women
attending were: Connie (Johnson) Stewart, Carolyn (Huddle) Russell and her
husband Gayle, Alberta (Swanegan) Carter and her husband Bob, Mary Nan (Walther)
Liposchak and her husband Pat, Janet (Enyeart) Weaver and her husband Jon, Jean
(Green) Niemeier, Dee Anne (Kuhler) Buennig, and special guest Donna (Owens)
Hume.
Besides the classmates, our class sponsor and former band/music instructor
Mr. Robert Smith was in attendance as well as former home economics instructor,
Kay (Shover) Schluckebier.
Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the beautiful log cabin retreat of Ronnie's where
we gathered as well as reminiscing about school days and looking at old
yearbooks, and other memorabilia of high school days provided by Mary Nan and
Jean. Attendees also took time to read the questionnaires returned to Ronnie as
well as to take numerous photographs.
Refreshments were provided during the social event, but many of the
classmates seemed too busy catching up with each other's lives to focus on the
food.
During the last five years since our 35th reunion, several classmates have
had some health problems or sadness in their lives (loss of relatives etc).
Therfore, the fact that those who could attend, did so, made the event all the
more special and meaningful to those of us there.
After the informal reunion, these people met once again at the school for the
64th KHS Alumni Banquet: Connie, Mary Nan & Pat, Dee Anne, Janet, Jean,
Larry, and Linda. In addition, Marsha (Kahler) Kerr made it to the evening
event. Larry addressed the crowd and gave the report about our 40th class
reunion.

A new feature at this years KHS Alumni Banquet was a memorial table
remembering the deceased graduates, administration and staff of KHS. More
classes will be added as information becomes available. Photos were taken from
yearbooks that were available at the time. The larger photo in the center of the
table is of Virlea Johnson Steiman Goe, who was the founder of the Alumni
Association.
